Child safety standards
JUNCTION does not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page sets out our policy, how to report, and what we do about reports.
1. What is forbidden
The following are strictly forbidden on this service. Where we find them, we remove the content, suspend the account, and report to the authorities as the law requires. • Posting, sharing or soliciting images, video or text that constitutes the sexual abuse of a child (anyone under 18) • Approaching a child for sexual purposes (grooming) • Content that implies or encourages the sexual exploitation of children • Posting creative works that depict children sexually • Directing people to places elsewhere that hold any of the above
2. Who may use the service
This service is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please use it with the consent of a parent or guardian. Use by anyone under 13 is not permitted. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
3. You can report from inside the app
Every post, reading note, message and user profile has a way to report it. Tap the flag, pick a reason, and it reaches us. You can report from any screen while signed in. You can also block someone so they cannot interact with you. We accept reports by email as well (see the contact below).
4. What happens after a report
1. We review reported content promptly, starting with whatever is most urgent. 2. Anything that breaks these standards is removed and the account that posted it is suspended. 3. Where we judge content to be child sexual abuse material, we preserve it and report it to the National Police Agency or the Internet Hotline Center, as Japanese law requires. 4. We tell the person who reported it what came of it, where that is appropriate.
5. How we prevent it
• Posts pass an automated check before they go public. Anything suspected of a problem stays hidden from others until we have looked at it ourselves. • Photos have location and other embedded data stripped before they are stored. • Direct messages only work between people who follow each other. An adult who is a stranger cannot contact a child out of the blue. • Profiles and reading records are private by default. Making them public is the person's own choice.
